Overstock.com iPad App

Overstock.com iPad App

This was my last project at Overstock.com. This was my first iPad app design and it offered my an opportunity to research the differences in Mobile phone context and iPad context and interaction. I wanted to create an app that was enjoyable and fun to shop with and envisioned users relaxed on the couch or in bed using it, totally immersed in the experience.

1. Stakeholder Interviews & Requirements Gathering

This time around I decided to do a fun exercise for requirements gathering. We put all the features we could think of on index cards. Each stakeholder had to rank the features and kill at least 3 features each round. This helped give me an idea what each of the stakeholders valued. I gave an average score to each feature and that gave me a good starting place.

2. Initial Wireframes

I created iPad stencils for this project because it worked so well on the previous project. This was a little more difficult than the Eziba iPhone App because we made a decision to design both portrait and landscape views for all screens.

3. Mockups

I created pixel perfect mockups for this project because we were outsourcing the UI Engineering and all the IOS programming.
